FYI: The Mariners Island Board of Directors has voted to close their channel of water to non-residents of Mariners Island. The bottom canal liner needs protected from any further damage from years of speeding boats, fishing lines/hooks and stuck propellers. Replacement cost for this liner in the canal is extremely expensive. The Mariner Island Board has been advised by their council that the channel is private property and not part of the lake owned by the Meyers Lake Preserve. Signs and surveillance will be posted/installed on their bridges. Please respect this request of Mariners Island and comply by not entering the canal.
